Multi-User
Anyone within the organization can run DBGallery to access the image database, provided they have been granted permission.
Fine Grained Permissions
Each group or department of users are restricted to assigned areas of the database. Rights to perform specific operations on those areas are also assigned. Learn more

A web server plug-in provides secure read-only access to assigned portions of the image database over the web. Learn more
Search
Find 1 of 100,000 images in a second or two. Find images quickly with keywords, when last updated, and many other advanced options.
Key Data Once
Data is written to image files as well as the database. So the data is there for re-use any time the file is later used. (Although please note that not all image file formats support data being directly written to them.)
Reports
Professional reports show formal stats in great looking layouts. There is an overall collection report card and formal stats such as number of photos per year, number of photos by camera, and several others.
Logical Views
Do you browse your photos the old fashioned way…browsing folders? DBGallery enables browsing of photos in a tree consisting of data….years and months, camera models, keywords, titles, exposures, and many more practical layouts.
IPTC/XMP Editor
IPTC/XMP data editor with powerful, quick, and easy edit features. Deep under the covers DBGallery utilizes Adobe's XMP Toolkit to do the actually writing of IPTC/XMP metadata to files, providing superb metadata compatibility with Adobe's products as well as almost all other IPTC/XMP metadata readers and editors. Virtual Sets
A fast and convenient way to build collections of photos. Virtual sets are sets of images which are actually pointers back to original images. They are a great way to categorize images.
Data Entry Optimization
Tuned for quick data entry, DBGallery has several features which enables fast meta-data entry. Edit any number of images at once. Data templates allow a preset collection of data field values to be saved and later applied to images. This facilitates quick subsequent tagging of one or many photos with these pre-filled data fields. Shortcut keys allow storing and retrieval of favorites and previously keyed entries. Architectural Flexibility
The backend works on Linux, Windows and MacOS. The database may reside on one server and the image files on another. The DBGallery client does have to run on Windows, although any browser may be used for read-only access if the DBGallery web-server plug-in is used.

(Actually its also ok to downgrade. The database evolved by 'adding only', making it non-problematic to move up or down...
